While defense work was once considered anathema to Silicon Valley, some now embrace it as they see the war in Ukraine, the Middle East, and the conflict with China rage on. The military is desperately trying to tap into the talent pool at Silicon Valley for the brightest minds, but leaving the private sector where the work is lucrative remains a challenge. Now these highly sought-after techies no longer need to choose between working for the military and the private sector, they can serve their country on a part-time basis – an idea whose time has come.
