Congratulations Donald Trump: Fear and divsion wins elections
You may not like the politics of fear and division, but as we saw last night, it gets people elected. When you prey upon people’s fears, they will turn out to vote. It just so happens that the politics of “joy” has no place in American politics today. It’s a dog-eat-dog world, and you better play dirty if you want to survive, because winning at all costs, no matter who you destroy in the process, is the name of the game. America just isn’t ready for a female black Asian president yet.
With a Republican-controlled Senate and House, Trump will pass his agenda, but one thing is clear: If bad things happen, there will only be one party to blame. Republicans will take credit for any successes, but by the same token, they will take the blame for anything that goes wrong. From here on in, the spotlight will be on the Republicans.
