Don’t Be Surpised

For if, while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Romans 5:10

The Bible says that we were all once “God’s enemies”, so it shouldn’t be surprising that people out “in the world” hate God. When u see people “in the world” acting and thinking like people “in the world”, it’s because they are enemies of God. And we shouldn’t be rattled when enemies act like enemies, just like you did before you got saved.

But this is really good news. It means that even those who hate God and want nothing to do with God, can be “reconciled to him” because of the cross. Those people that we call enemies of God today, can become friends of God tomorrow. That person persecuting you could be the next Paul who gets converted out of his hatred to become a lover of Jesus. We all started out as enemies.

When enemies feel the touch of our Savior for the first time they can turn into friends of God. Perhaps it’s the kindness they see in a Christian, or the love of Jesus shining through a believer. Jesus can touch any heart at any time. So don’t discount the “evil” people around you, they too can become the righteousness of God in Christ.
