India needs to make up it’s mind

India, India we love you, but please make up your mind. You have teamed up with us in the QUAD but you’re also a founding member of BRICS, which is anti-US in its objectives. We thought you were going to help us counter China, but now it seems you’ve fallen for XI’s overtures for peace and cooperation. You know the CCP talks out of both sides of their mouths, you can’t trust them. Come into our camp and come to stay. We really want to be friends but in a sense, it’s a jealous friendship. When you play too nice with the CCP we get nervous. China wants to be the hegemon in your region and there is only room for one hegemon – it’s either you or China. So if you don’t want it to be China, it had better be you. In fact, we want it to be you! The West, especially the US, wants to help you. And when you do grow, we won’t butt heads with you like we do with China because we share common values – values that transcend our differences. We like you because you don’t steal our intellectual property or hack into our infrastructure or engage in unfair trade practices. You’re also a fellow democracy. For these reasons and many more, we should have a positive, productive relationship for decades to come.
