China will not stop or slow down AI development. Even if we can reach an accord or a pact with them, they won’t uphold it given the stakes. China has been catching up very quickly, and if the current trajectory holds, they’ll eventually surpass us. We need to get cracking, not slow down. China is not our competitor; they are our adversary.
