I Don’t Value What You Value
The plan that the people behind Van Wilder 3 had was pretty malicious. It’s just an attempt to embarrass me. Look, God made me this way and there is no reason for me to be ashamed of who I am. I have some unique strengths and some unique weaknesses, but this is who God made me to be so why should I apologize for any of it? If I were to get my values from the world, I would either be full of pride when I’m operating under my God-given strengths or I would get very depressed when my weaknesses come to the fore. But it is my God-given duty as a child of God to reject all of that. God made me with whatever strengths and weaknesses I have so I reject the values that you want to impose on me that would have crippled me had I believed and incorporated them into my life. If you want to judge yourself and other people by a false worldly standard, then that’s your problem and you’ll reap the consequences of your deluded thinking, but don’t try to impose those standards and values on me, because I won’t judge myself by them. I’ll judge myself based on what God says.
