Tony Robbins says “suffering is selfish” because when we suffer we are focused on ourselves. It’s true that we should also consider the people we have sinned against and that we should be very sorry for our actions if that’s what is bringing on the suffering. What Tony Robbins is saying sounds logical and it’s a good way to think, but with all due respect to Tony, I don’t think this comports with reality since Jesus said we would suffer. Yes, grieve over the people you victimized but whether you suffer for right or wrong, it’s still suffering. When we hurt over someone else we also suffer.
