If you want a blog like this one, you’ll need a web host. This blog is currently hosted on Google Cloud aka GCP. I just switched because I’ve amassed a bunch of promotional credits that I can apply towards my bill each month.

However, if I had to pay out of my pocket for web hosting, I might not go with GCP. GCP for WordPress web hosting might be overkill because the VM that you would need cost at least $7.11/month plus you can incur other charges.

If I had to pay for hosting, I would go with a company called Siteground. It’s cheap at only $2.99/month (reg. price is $17.99/month) right now and they use Google infrastructure in the background anyway, so you’ll get the same level of service. You’ll also get a free domain name and its a simple one-click setup. You really can’t beat that.

I like it so much I signed up for their affiliate program just so I can tell you about it.
