There is something dangerous going on in the church today. People are attempting to dethrone Jesus and elevate man, trying to make man like God. But this is as old as sin itself. Satan was kicked out of heaven for attempting to be like God.

One popular preacher even said that we would have done what Jesus did, like die on a cross, if we had the “knowledge of the Word of God”. He was saying we too can be Jesus. Jesus is no different than us. While Jesus is 100% man, he is also God. We are not God. This is nothing but pride. Listen to the words of God “…In the pride of your heart you say, ‘I am a god; I sit on the throne of a god in the heart of the seas.’ But you are a mere mortal and not a god, though you think you are as wise as a god.” Eze 28:2

There is something called the “little gods” doctrine popularized by Benny Hinn, and Creflo Dollar. It holds that human beings were created to be the exact same class of being as God. The truth is that there is a great difference between our Creator and His Creation. This doctrine is a license for it’s preachers to act like they are super-spiritual–that they are like God when the Bible says we are all sinners. None of us seeks after God. Don’t be deceived you are not God or even a god!
