Gossip is a sin but it is often overlooked as not being too serious, but all sin is serious. And I’ve learned from my experience that Christians gossip just as much as anyone else, if not more. How else to people even know who I am were it not for gossip. I’ve never been on TV or anything so there is no reason for strangers to know who I am. The truth is church people love to gossip, I see it all the time but they disguise it as something else, like prayer: “Oh lets pray for this person who has sinned by doing ____”. The irony is that instead of church being a sanctuary for healing, gossip turns it into a place where you need to keep your guard up. I once heard someone say they didn’t gossip because they didn’t drop any names. Well if the person or people you are talking to knows who you are talking about then it’s gossip.
