The Great Deception
People really like to act like they aren’t talking about me when they are. A friend of mine once said, “His head is so big, he thinks the world revolves around him, he even thinks the pastor’s sermon is about him”. Given all that has happened since then, he should look back and know that he was a fool for saying that. Brad Linkns at Life Baptist Church should know all about this. His entire hate-filled rant was all about me. He insulted me and attacked me personally throughout the sermon. Of course, he can mask his intent and pretend it meant something else, like I’m just perceiving it that way, but if you know me well enough and you listen to the sermon, its clearly about me. When I confronted him about this, he said: “I had no one in mind when I preached that sermon.” He might be able to fool a crowd, but if people know the context in which all of this was said, anyone would know he was talking about me. In the future, I’ll just walk out of the church–I’m longing to show disrespect to people that disrespect me. I’ve been living the Truman Show, where everyone is trying to deceive everyone and act like nothing is going on when they are participating in it themselves.
