I think I’ve lost my mind. All of this nonsense that is being forced upon me is making me crazy because it’s consuming my mind. But that’s my fault; I’ve let all this stuff surrounding the lawsuit occupy a space in my mind that should be reserved for God alone. I guess if I’ve ever had an idol, this is it. I have up days and down days depending on what thoughts about the lawsuit occupy my mind. They tell me the end will be great, so on those days I’m a happy man; then I start thinking about all of the stuff that I’m going to go through, and I spiral downwards. So I’m on an emotional roller coaster of my own making. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I don’t hate all of you people, but I don’t feel your animosity yet either. And I’m like Donald Trump, who once brilliantly said “I don’t like people who don’t like me”. That has got to make him the greatest philosopher of all time; his statement reads like poetry to me. For all of his faults, Donald Trump doesn’t pretend to be someone he’s not, and that’s something you don’t always find in politicians. You know what he thinks and where he stands. Perhaps this is his appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So many Christians have been silenced for too long because of our hostile woke culture, and if you don’t toe the leftist line, you’ll be canceled, labeled, and dismissed. Christians expect to be counter-cultural, but it has gotten to a point where Christians are not just strange and irrelevant, but the mainstream culture has been led to believe that Christians even pose a danger to society, and that their old way of thinking was too backwards for our modern, enlightened minds. Christianity was even considered to be harmful to ourselves and everyone around us, but this really isn’t anything new to Christians who have always been persecuted everywhere they seem to go, except for America– surely not America. America and Christianity seemed to be destined for each other, but not anymore, since, as a preacher might say, “America has abandoned God”, as he would then attribute all of our problems to this neglect of our spiritual roots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So here comes along a guy who capitalized on all that angst; whether he was intentionally doing this or not makes no difference. Many conservatives and Christians found a man in Donald Trump who was willing to disrupt the culture even if his methods seemed too brash for our sensibilities–sensibilities that were all shaped by a woke culture in the first place. Now America has taken a sharp turn toward Christianity and its values, which feels like we are in that America that the founders envisioned for us once again. However, all the voices that have always been opposed to all this have gotten louder and more extreme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The liberal revolution of the 60s and 70s left its mark deep in our psyche. It permeates our institutions, especially higher education, as its products became our leaders. Those young radicals grew up and traded in their tie-dyes for suits and ties. So Donald Trump’s disruptions fell especially hard on these new elites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sometimes you just need to clear a weak, unreliable foundation so that you can build on something more solid, beautiful, and lasting–something that won’t rot away. It can be a messy process, but if we want to get back to the things that made America great, it must be done. It is that perspective that Trump tapped into, and I guess it’s why their rallying cry is “Make America Great Again”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
