I suppose I’m what you call a Christian Zionist. If you want to know why US support for Israel is so strong, you only need to read one verse from the Bible to understand why. Originally talking to Abraham but later reaffirmed for the nation of Israel (see Num 24:9, Gen 27:39), God said: “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” Gen 12:3. According to this verse, it’s pretty simple–curse Israel and you’ll face divine judgement, while blessing Israel means God will bless you. Many people have even reached the conclusion that the US has been blessed throughout the years precisely because of our support for Israel. It’s fascinating to watch those who want to do harm to Israel discover that the ancient promises of protection and judgment still hold true today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
